QA Engineer (Embedded)

You will be responsible for planning, designing, and executing test cases for embedded systems, ensuring products meet functional and non-functional requirements. You will join our QA team on an IoT project where you will validate system stability, connectivity, and hardware integration.

Apply for this role

About the role

Day-to-day work includes creating and maintaining test documentation, performing manual testing, logging and tracking defects, and collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and designers to resolve issues. The role involves contributing to continuous improvement of QA processes, maintaining high quality standards, and supporting releases through regression testing and verification of fixes. You will also participate in sprint activities, provide clear feedback on product quality, and help refine acceptance criteria and technical specifications.

The work

Embedded Validation

Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans for firmware directly on embedded hardware targets.

Protocol & Connectivity

Stress-test wireless and IoT application layer protocols for connectivity resilience, edge cases, and security vulnerabilities.

Firmware & OS Build Testing

Drive functional, regression, stability, and OTA update testing across build cycles.

Root Cause Analysis

Triage complex hardware/firmware bugs, isolate the failure points, and work directly with embedded firmware devs to resolve them early.

What you bring

  • 3+ years (Mid) or 5+ years (Senior) of hands-on software/hardware QA experience specifically focused on embedded systems.
  • Practical, working knowledge of wireless protocols (Wi-Fi, BLE) and application layer protocols (MQTT).
  • Practical familiarity with hardware interfaces and physical debugging tools.
  • A highly methodical approach to documentation and tracking down subtle, hard-to-reproduce edge cases.

Nice to have

  • Direct experience setting up custom Hardware-In-The-Loop (HIL) automated test environments from scratch.
  • Background in OTA firmware update testing and security validation.
  • Proficiency in German.

What we offer

  • A flat structure where your technical decisions matter and shape the product.
  • A professional environment designed for engineers who want to focus on technical execution.
  • Salary based on technical ownership and experience.
